Anime music in the Amazon mp3 store

leave a comment »

If you are like me you are kind of frustrated with how anime music and jpop are not music categories used by Amazon, making it hard for an otaku to find and legally download the kind of music they like.

Nobody else seems to have tried to make any kind of a list or index so I guess I will be the first to make the effort. The list on this page will be arranged in alphabetical order by anime title. I plan to make a separate list ordered by the name of the artist performing the song.

I will be updating the page as I come across new mp3s in the Amazon store.

Of Mamet and Madoka

with one comment

Bear with me, this is going to be a strange one.

For the last few months, I’ve been following a Japanese TV show, an anime, called Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica, sometimes refered to as Puella Magi Madoka Magica.

Aside from some of the junkiest of junk science, which I can forgive given that this is a fantasy series, the show is excellent.  This fan-made trailer gives a good overall impression of the tone and direction of the show without spoiling the plot:
